The legendary Newport Folk Festival returns to Fort Adams for another unforgettable weekend of folk, blues, and bluegrass. Looking for the perfect casual evening out? Discover Music at the Fort, a free summer concert series hosted at one of Newport’s most historic waterfront landmarks, Fort Adams. Designed to be welcoming and fun for all ages, this series makes for an ideal midweek summer tradition. Music at Local Vineyards & Breweries

Spend your Saturday afternoons enjoying live music at this beautiful sixth-generation family farm nestled along the Sakonnet River. It’s the perfect spot to grab a bite from a local food truck and settle in for a relaxing afternoon of tunes and fresh air. Because these outdoor performances are weather-dependent and scheduling can shift around special farm events, we recommend checking their calendar before you head out.

Enjoy summer evenings filled with live music, fresh flavors, and vineyard views at Newport Vineyards. The “Tuesday Tunes” summer music series brings local acoustic musicians to the property every Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., paired with $1 oysters, $5 glasses of rosé, a build-your-own charcuterie cart, and exclusive BOGO discounts for hospitality industry professionals. 

 

The weekend fun continues on Sundays with a delicious brunch starting at 10:00 a.m., followed by live music on the tank patio from 1 to 4:00 p.m. alongside walk-up food stations. The Summer Jams Concert Series at Sweet Berry Farm in Middletown offers the perfect mid-week escape on alternate Tuesday evenings from late June through late August. Guests can pull up a lawn chair or spread out a blanket on the lawn to enjoy a diverse lineup of live, local musical acts. The farm’s kitchen cooks up a variety of specialty, scratch-made dinner options and fresh desserts, complemented by a pop-up bar serving craft cocktails, local beers, and wine.

Local Music at Parks & Beaches

Newport Recreation’s Summer Entertainment Series at Easton’s Beach brings evenings of music, magic, and family-friendly fun to the shore throughout July and August. Family Night Concerts take place on select Wednesdays beginning at 6 p.m., while Friday Children’s Nights start at 5 p.m. with a mix of performers, storytellers, and entertainers.

It’s the kind of summer tradition that makes it easy to slow down and enjoy a night by the water — just bring a lawn chair or blanket, settle in on the sand, and enjoy the show. Parking at the beach is free after 4 p.m. on scheduled event nights, making it even easier to make an evening of it.

Head over to the King Park gazebo on Wellington Avenue for NIMFest, Newport’s Independent Music Festival, a cherished summer tradition overlooking beautiful Newport Harbor. Proudly presented by the City of Newport, these weekly concerts are completely free to the public, and your favorite leashed four-legged friends are always welcome to join in the fun.

The Music in Middletown Series brings summer evenings to life with free outdoor concerts at two locations in town. The season begins with a special celebration at Second Beach featuring food trucks and a fireworks display sponsored by BankNewport in honor of America’s 250th birthday.

Throughout July and August, Monday night concerts will rotate between Paradise Valley Park and Second Beach, offering a mix of relaxed neighborhood performances and seaside evenings by the water. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, gather with friends and family, and enjoy live music.
