Newport Classical Music Festival

Newport Classical has featured some of the most talented musicians in unique and intimate concert spaces in its 55 years. This July, you can experience 27 concerts in 11 historic venues. Experience classical music new and old, reimagined classics, and the rhythm of percussion while immersed in some of The Classic Coast’s most historic architecture.

Newport Folk Festival

The famous festival where Bob Dylan went electric in 1965 is back for a weekend of the best folk, blues, bluegrass, and more. You’ll hear internationally famous bands and local music favorites across four stages at this weekend of music held at Fort Adams.

When: July 26-28, 2024

Newport Jazz Festival

Now in its 70th year, the Newport Jazz Festival is an iconic music celebration that should be experienced at least once. Held every summer at Fort Adams State Park, the Jazz Festival brings artists across all musical genres together for a weekend of music, dancing, and camaraderie!

When: August 2-4, 2024

Fort Adams

This summer music series is sponsored in part by Hogan Associates Christie’s International. It features a lineup of local bands playing against the backdrop of Fort Adams, the 200-year-old historic fortress whose location has protected the area since the colonial period. Read more.

When: Wednesday, August 21 and Wednesday, September 18 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Music at Local Vineyards & Breweries

Greenvale Vineyards

Enjoy live music most Saturdays and Sundays at this sixth-generation family farm located along the Sakonnet River. Events are weather-dependent and subject to change depending on special events. Read more.

Where: 582 Wapping Road, Middletown, RI

Join the fun at the Sunday Music Series, held from June 23 to September 1, 2024, from 1-4 pm. You’ll enjoy beer and wine flights, delicious food served to-go style, and their famous sangria slushies while enjoying live music by some of the area’s best local artists.

When: Every Sunday, June 23 through September 1 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Ragged Island

Come for free live music, food trucks, great brews, and good company! Lawn seating is available – don’t forget your favorite camp chair! Ragged Island says leashed dogs and well-behaved children are also welcome.

When: Wednesday nights, July 3 to August 28 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Rejects Beer Co.

Located just two blocks from Easton’s Beach, Rejects Beer Co. is a fun craft brewery without a lot of muss and fuss. They have two live music events this year. Go early and grab dinner at Diego’s Barrio Cantina next door!

When: August 10 at 7:00 p.m. and August 30 at 8:00 p.m.

Where: 124 Aquidneck Avenue, Middletown, RI

Local Music at Parks & Beaches

This popular concert series features family-friendly entertainment on Tuesdays and Children’s Nights on Thursdays through August. Enjoy free parking after 4:00 p.m. on show nights. Bring a blanket or chairs and enjoy great music on one of New England’s Top 10 Beaches!

When: Tuesdays from July 9-August 13 and Thursdays, July 11 to August 1, at 6:00 p.m.

King Park

NIMFest, or Newport’s Independent Music Festival, takes place in scenic King Park. Kicking off the 2024 season on Sunday, July 7, each free concert begins at 3:00 p.m. Watch boats sail by and enjoy soothing views of the Newport Bridge as you listen to music from different bands each week.

When: Sundays during July and August starting Sunday, July 7 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Blue’s Cafe

Voted Best Live Music by Newport Life Magazine for 20 consecutive years, Newport Blues Cafe is a Newport institution. Sundays at Pour Judgement belong to Los Duderinos, Pour Judgement’s longest-running jam band.
