Newport Daffodil Days
This year, daffodil-seekers will find more than 1.2 million (yes, you read that right!) here in Newport County. From bike rides to shopping excursions with spring-themed window displays and beyond, daffodil-themed events are in full bloom all month long. The kickoff begins at noon at the Clarke Cooke House in Bannister’s Wharf. Immediately following the opening ceremony, the can’t-miss is the 2026 Daffy Doggy Paw-Rade, which begins at 12:30 p.m., in front of the Black Dog.

Newport Night Run
Ready to see the City-by-the-Sea in a whole new light? Lace up your sneakers for the Newport Night Run, a vibrant after-dark 5K that transforms the tranquil rural roads of Aquidneck Island into a glowing celebration of community. Starting and finishing at Rogers High School, this family-friendly event invites runners and walkers of all paces to deck themselves out in headlamps and glow sticks for a fantastic cause. Every registration directly benefits the Newport Public Education Foundation, making it the perfect way to support our local schools while enjoying a scenic, high-energy evening under the stars.

Dining at The Newport Mansions
The Preservation Society of Newport County’s members and Newport Mansions ticket holders can unwind and enjoy a Gilded Age dining experience. Serving options from high tea to a light lunch, spend time taking in gorgeous views before or after your tour at The Breakers Café, The Chinese Tea House at The Marble House, or The Carriage House at The Elms. All Preservation Society members and ticket holders can bring their own coolers and chairs and picnic on the grounds of the Newport Mansions, too! Rhode Races – Newport
Celebrate spring in Newport with the Newport Rhode Races, a truly picturesque marathon, half marathon, and 5k. Partnering with the Daffodil Days Festival, the races wind through a landscape adorned with over 1.2 million daffodils. The marathon, a Boston Qualifier, begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by the half marathon at 7:45 a.m., and the 5k at 8:15 a.m.

For a truly unique way to experience the breathtaking coastline of Aquidneck Island, look no further than a pedal-powered adventure along our historic railroad tracks. These 90-minute tours offer a fresh perspective on our local landscape. You can choose the Northern Ramble for a scenic six-mile trek toward the Sakonnet River or opt for the Southern Circuit, a six-mile round-trip journey that heads toward Newport and back. It’s a fantastic, low-impact way to soak in the salt air and stunning vistas that make our region so special.

Newport Bermuda Race Starting Line Festival
Celebrate 100 years of partnership between the Cruising Club of America and the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club while watching 175 boats embark on their 636-mile journey to Bermuda. The event features live commentary from sailing legends, food trucks, bars, live music, and a dedicated kids’ zone, this year’s “Thrash to the Onion Patch” is particularly special as it features the triumphant return of the Spirit of Bermuda, the island’s 112-foot national tall ship. Designed right here in Newport by Langan Design Partners, this iconic vessel has served as a vital educational platform for the Bermuda Sloop Foundation, which has trained approximately 8,500 students.
